Kinfolk Book Store was founded in 2024 by two sisters who wanted to take their love of reading and spread that joy to others. Lauren and McKenna, the two co-owners, found that they were spending most of their time talking about their current reads and TBR (to be read) lists and wanted to find a way to channel that into a business.

Having grown up in a small town in Southeast Indiana, they had very little access to bookstores when young. They lived for the Scholastic Book Fair when it came into the school. Having experienced that joy, they set out to create a similar feeling and experience as the school book fair in communities that normally will not have access to such experiences. What better way to help replicate this experience, then by bringing the bookstore to them?

Thus Kinfolk was born. Starting out as an indie online bookstore, the goal is to expand into a mobile storefront that is able to be present in smaller communities and at events and fairs across the country. As a family owned and operated small business, the owners specifically curate the items that meant something to them or that they would buy themselves. Kinfolk is proud to offer many genres of books and book related goodies.
